Corporate Information

Zycko is a leading IT distributor

Since its incorporation in 1999, Zycko's position of success and profitable partnership with over 35 leading IT vendors, 3,000 plus channel partners and $180m worth of annual sales have evolved from a series of strategic moves by Chairman Rory Sweet, and his executive team.

The concept of a business as successful as Zycko was just a seed when Rory Sweet, co-founder of Cisco-distributor RBR Networks, sold the company to South African-based Datatec Ltd in 1997.

RBR Networks was a highly successful company and is thought to have accounted for around 90 per cent of Cisco sales through distribution.

While RBR Networks had already carved out a name for itself in the market by the time it was sold, Datatec renamed the company Comstor and the distributor still enjoys healthy sales to this day.

In his next shrewd move, Rory established Zycko - with the intention of developing a leading global distributor of networking, storage and server accessories for computer and telecom networks.

Zycko has since expanded and strengthened its focus. Zycko has been at the leading edge in the storage market, taking a thought leadership position, since 2002. Between 2004 and 2005 Zycko became one of the first UK distributors to realise the potential of VoIP and began developing the necessary channel, which has now taken a firm grip of the market.
