Plasmon demonstrates new storage at CeBIT
02 Mar 2007
Plasmon is to showcase its second-generation UDO2 archival storage solutions at this year's CeBIT conference.
The UDO2 is set to offer a 50 per cent increase in performance over the UDO1 with over double the capacity from 1 terabyte to 76 terabytes.
At the conference, Plasmon will be joined by six fully certified application and technology partners.
Steve Tongish, Plasmon marketing director, said: "CeBIT is always an important venue for Plasmon to introduce and demonstrate new products.
"Our demonstration of UDO2 reinforces Plasmon's long-term commitment to UDO archival storage technology, providing new capacity and performance milestones that enable businesses to achieve more with their archived data."
He also highlighted the low energy consumption of the UDO2.
"Many companies are concerned about rising energy costs and carbon emissions, and the UDO Archive Appliance consumes dramatically less power than magnetic disk alternatives. Plasmon archive solutions with UDO2 technology ensure that customers do not compromise their reputation, profits, business or the environment," Mr Tongish added.
CeBit takes place between March 15th and 21st in Hanover, Germany..
