Asigra launch new backup and recovery software
19 Apr 2007
Asigra has launched a new backup and recovery software for service providers targeting the growing storage services industry.
Described as its flagship product, the 64-bit Televaulting software supports highly optimised office/branch office backups with a range of new capabilities that include enterprise-wide data reduction.
It also includes incremental processing of larger file, which will help tackle the greater volumes of data present at remote sites.
The vendor adds that 64-bit Televaulting will allow CPUs to deliver consolidated, multi-site enterprise data protection, which could lead to higher levels of data reduction and process of network data.
Eran Farajun, executive vice president of Asigra, commented: "The continuing deluge in information growth demands a next-generation backup and recovery platform that can scale up as demands require.
"Asigra's support for 64-bit environments is a testament to our dedication in providing solutions that easily handle the most rigorous backup loads."
Lauren Whitehouse, analyst for Enterprise Strategy Group, added that Asigra has capitalised on the requirement among businesses to lower their capital expenditures.
The software will combine utility service provisioning with a disk-based, WAN-optimised architecture.
