This five-day solution-focused class offers an introduction to Riverbed SteelCentral NetProfiler, SteelCentral Flow Gateway, SteelCentral NetShark, and SteelCentral Packet Analyzer for network performance management. It covers hands-on installation, configuration, and reporting using these SteelCentral products, as well as an introduction to packet analysis using Wireshark.

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • List the features of the SteelCentral & Shark product families
  • Configure & deploy the SteelCentral & Shark products in various network deployment scenarios
  • Create reports & performance metrics, manage interactive dashboards
  • Evaluate network behaviour & create & monitor service maps
  • Size & deploy the appliances for a given network
  • Install & configure Shark & Pilot
  • Use Views & Trace Clips, perform reporting & transaction analysis
  • Perform Wireshark packet analysis

This course is specifically designed for Riverbed customers and resellers/partners involved in the design or deployment of these Riverbed SteelCentral products for network performance management.


  • Certifications as a CCNA or the equivalent inter-networking knowledge extremely helpful (routing protocols, TCP/IP, network design & troubleshooting)
  • Basic knowledge of operating system administration (Windows or Linux) helpful
