LignUp creates new IP partnership

23 Mar 2006

LignUp, the converged communications vendor, is to launch its FastLign alliance in Europe to hasten the uptake of IP telephony services.

The partnership sees industry players TeliaSonera and UK firm Streamdoor aiming to extend FastLign's European scope, as the two provide a telephony services architecture and range of hosted applications which operate, integrate with and support services which are managed by FastLign.

Johan Andersson of TeliaSoneria said: "In the past, IP telephony services have been prohibitively time consuming and expensive to build, deploy and manage.

"Service providers must build these services from the ground up, integrating a wide variety of technologies and services to provide a complete services product."

British firm Streamdoor, which supplies VoIP communication services as well as hosted on-demand contact centre applications, will provide FastLign's data centre capacity and act as the partnership's operational backbone.

FastLign's hosted telephony model removes systems integration cycles, provides operations support and helps customers address their marketplaces' needs.
