Isilon to bring new offerings to Middle East and Africa

Isilon has announced the expansion of its operations in the Middle East and Africa, and is looking to roll out its brand new clustered storage systems at the same time.

The firm has reached agreement with potential partners across the region and is carrying out trials of its products among several customers – with the Gitex 2006 exhibition in Dubai last week prove the showcase for much of what the company offers.

It gave the first public demonstration of the new OneFS 4.5 operating systems at the exhibition, with the new offering – the only clustered storage solution which can to reach one petabyte of capacity and ten gigabytes per second of performance in a single file system and single volume – looking likely to be highly popular.

Phil Crocker, EMEA marketing director at Isilon, explained: "Isilon is focused on delivering the benefits of clustered storage to customers throughout the Middle East and Africa, including those in the media and petrochemical sectors.

"Our strategy is to establish long term relationships with a few key partners across the region and provide them with as much assistance as possible while allowing them to use their local knowledge, technical expertise and extensive contacts to advance sales across the region."
