Scalable Network Accelerators unveiled by Alacritech
12 Apr 2007
Alacritech has unveiled a family of Scalable Network Accelerators (SNAs) aimed at offloading TCP processing from Windows Server 2003 and Windows Storage Server 2003.
The SNAs are designed to allow network servers to produce higher aggregate performance, which support more users and result in greater storage and application performance.
Alacritech has also announced that it has unveiled a scalable server reference design, which is to be used specifically for its partners.
Arun Taneja, founder and analyst of The Taneja Group, commented: "Alacritech is clearly known for its innovation in the area of TCP Offload and the fact that Microsoft has integrated Alacritech's model in TCP Chimney Offload speaks to its acceptance as a key Windows technology."
He added that it is "clear" that Alacritech understands the execution of offload for iSCSI and front-end file traffic, which is partly why it is credible in the market and for OEM partners.
Alacritech aims to provide scalable networks and provide technology that increases the speed, power and performance of servers.
