Diligent Technologies "experiencing hyper growth"

Diligent Technologies says that it is experiencing record "hyper growth" in business.
As a result, the vendor has had to augment its management team with the addition of a new vice president of business development.
Peter O'Brien will take up the position and is set to bring international and domestic skills to Diligent Technologies developed while holding previous positions at other companies.
Mr O'Brien said: "After reviewing the opportunities in the de-duplication market, I decided to join the Diligent team. The company possesses the most scalable and efficient storage architecture in the market.
"I firmly believe that ProtecTIER powered by HyperFactor will continue to propel Diligent over the next few years. I am really excited to be part of this company."
Last quarter, the vendor found that its ProtecTIER disk-based data protection solution allowed sustained in-line de-duplication throughput performance of 400MB/s in a data centre environment.
Hu Yoshida, chief technical officer of Hitachi Data Systems, said that the major advantage of Diligent's de-duplication is that it can reduce the amount of data backed up by a rate of 25-1.
