Executive appointments at Isilon
26 Apr 2007
Clustered storage developer Isilon Systems has announced the expansion of its executive team with two appointments.
Steve Fitz will join the vendor as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Mr Fitz brings over 20 years of strategic experience to the firm and arrives from EMC Corporation, where he held responsibility for developing its Asia-Pacific operations.
In addition to this, Isilon is to promote Paul Rutherford to the position of vice president of engineering. Mr Rutherford previously served as Isilon's senior director of software engineering.
Steve Goldman, chief executive of Isilon Systems, said the company was "excited" by the additions to the leadership team at a time of "exceptional" growth.
"With Steve and Paul on-board overseeing the growth of sales and engineering, we are scaling the Isilon leadership team to maximise the market opportunity created by the growing demand for Isilon's clustered storage solutions."
In other news, Isilon reported a 107 per cent year-on-year growth in revenue for the first quarter of 2007 at $21.6 million (£10.9 million).
