QLogic to provide HBAs for Oracle enterprise

30 Apr 2007

QLogic states that it has joined the Oracle PartnerNetwork and Oracle Unbreakable Linux Program.

The joint-venture means that it now offers interoperability of QLogic SANblade Fibre Channel HBAs with Oracle Enterprise Linux.

As a consequence, Global 2000 data centres will now find it easier to integrate SANblade HBAs with a range of other storage network solution providers.

Amit Vashi, senior director of marketing at QLogic Host Solutions Group, commented: "Through our continuous commitment to enhancing Linux solutions, the relationship between QLogic and Oracle expands the reach and deployment of market-leading SANblade Fibre Channel HBAs in mission-critical environments.

"The QLogic and Oracle relationship around the Oracle Unbreakable Linux Program enables us to exceed our mutual customers' expectations in Global 2000 data centres."

QLogic has the largest number of installed 4Gb and 2Gb fibre channel HBA ports in the world, according to a report from Dell'Oro.

In related news QLogic recently announced that its enterprise class SANbox 9000 Series Fibre Channel core switches will be available with Sun Microsystems.
