

"Record-breaking performance" for Emulex network express module

Emulex has announced that its network express module for the Sun Blade 8000 Modular System provides "record-breaking performance".
The vendor said that its LPe11020-S 20-port Fibre Channel Network Express Module achieved unprecedented performance levels during a range of industry-standard benchmark tests.
Emulex added that its LPe11020-S is the first high-density remote I/O solution and provides SAN connectivity for up to ten server blades.
Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing at Emulex, commented: "We're proud to recognize this record-breaking performance, which represents the highest fibre channel throughput available from a single fibre channel I/O module in the market today."
"The Sun Blade 8000, together with the Emulex LPe11020-S, enables enterprise organizations to fully leverage the scalability and power of server blades with the flexibility, availability and expandability of a storage area network," he continued.
The remote I/O solution also provides enterprise-class features including non-disruptive hot plug, full redundancy and high performance scalable I/O.
In related news, Emulex recently posted results suggesting that its profits had increased year on year by 35 per cent.
