Isilon awarded for "exceptional technology innovation"

04 May 2007

Isilon Systems has been awarded Best of Show at the Bio-IT World Conference and Expo in the Information Technology Infrastructure category.

The winners are selected by magazine editors of Bio-IT World magazine and spotlight new products that demonstrate technology innovation across life sciences research and the clinical trials process.

John Russell, executive editor of Bio-IT World, said that the awards recognise the products "that are fuelling tomorrow's discoveries".

Brett Goodwin, vice president of marketing and business development at Isilon Systems, added: "As life sciences and drug discovery move out of the petri dish and into the data centre, innovations in information technology are dramatically accelerating the discovery process and enabling scientific breakthroughs on an unprecedented scale.

"In this era of research and discovery, data literally serves as the lifeblood of scientific advancement and Isilon's clustered storage solutions enable leading life science organisations to transform this data into breakthroughs."

The news follows the announcement that Steve Fitz is to lead Isilon's global business sales during a stage of "rapid growth and expansion" in the data storage market.
