Storage developments tipped for Chinese market
08 May 2007
Further developments in the storage sphere will be seen in China this year, according to one website.
Despite the takeover of H3C by US-based 3Com, the firm has retained the custom of Chinese company Huawei and is one of many which will continue their activity in China over the coming months, Byte and Switch claims.
The website cites insiders as suggesting H3C intends to expand its Neocean iSCSI line "technologically and geographically," with one source in particular predicting the product will become even faster after the firm's OEM partner Intransa releases its own 10 Gbit/s offering this year.
FalconStor and iVivity's technologies are being used in H3C's WORM-based disaster recovery systems, while the website also points to reports in the Chinese press of a mooted Huawei-Symantec partnership as indicative of a healthy few months ahead.
In related news, Huawei has recently successfully hosted the Global Conference of GSM Network Evolution in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
