Diligent Technologies expands the power of ProtecTIER De-Duplication

19 Jun 2007

US-based Diligent Technologies have announced plans to improve the current range of data protection products.

The two new solutions to Diligent ProtecTier platform will address the needs of small-to-medium sized environments and provide more cost-effective ways of protecting data.

"For some time we have known that ProtecTIER can be an ideal fit for mid-sized environments, but as a young company we focused our resources on achieving success in some of the most demanding data centres in the world," explained Doron Kempel, chief executive officer of Diligent Technologies.

He added: "Now that ProtecTIER is established as the only viable enterprise-class in-line de-duplication platform, the time is right to address this market segment and bring ProtecTIER-based offerings to SMB environments."

The company's new products include a mid-range entry package that will support up to 12 virtual tape drives and two virtual tape libraries, while a standard package will support up to 16 virtual tape drives and provide as many as four libraries.
