Riverbed partners with Radware for WAN infrastructure solutions

03 Jul 2007

Riverbed Technology has announced the formation of a partnership with integrated application delivery solutions Radware for the provision of fault-tolerant and high-performance wide area network (WAN) infrastructure solutions for its clients.

As a result of this collaboration, Steelhead appliances from Riverbed that lower the chattiness of transport protocol and speed up application response will be combined with multi-homing, link load-balancing, traffic re-direction and bandwidth management systems.

This partnership will offer businesses uninterrupted WAN infrastructure without the acquisition of potentially costly upgrades to available bandwidth.

Venugopal Pai, senior director of alliances at Riverbed, said: "The combination of Radware's and Riverbed's solutions gives [chief information officers] deploying critical applications from the data centre to the branch office the very highest WAN application performance and the maximum availability and scalability of link resources."

In addition to continuous LAN-like access to the internet, merged data centres and remote locations, benefits of this combined offering include simple management and load-balancing across a number of ISP connections, together with increased efficiency and data security.

Last month, Riverbed announced an expansion of its Accelerate 07: Riverbed Performance Summit customer and partner conference to a number of new global locations, including Lisbon, Phuket and San Francisco.
