SimpleTech launches 250GB portable external drive

03 Jul 2007

SimpleTech, a Fabrik company, has announced the availability of its streamlined portable storage solution, the 250GB SimpleDrive portable external hard drive, designed for use by businesspeople, creative persons and multimedia users.

As with other hardware from the firm, the drive ships to vendors with the company's StorageSync backup software to facilitate the simple duplication of both business and personal data either in full or incrementally from the drive.

The product also boasts "fast and reliable" data transfer speeds and a standard USB 2.0 interface, while consumers purchasing the SimpleDrive will be given a free 2GB MyFabrik account for easy storage and sharing of data.

Mike Williams, senior vice president and general manager of products and technology at Fabrik, said: "We're pleased to offer this next capacity point on our portable SimpleDrive family; it's is a natural extension that benefits all of our storage-hungry users."

Rob Endearle, principal analyst at the Enderle group, claims that the distinctive design of the drive could result in it being hailed as a leading product in the market for digital storage.

In April 2007, Fabrik first announced the availability of a number of SimpleTech SimpleDrive storage solutions for desktop users, with available sizes ranging from 160GB to 1TB in a number of designs.
