Riverbed 'the most complete WDS solution'

Riverbed Technology offers its clients the "most comprehensive" solution to their wide-area data services (WDS) needs, according to the firm.
The comment comes as Riverbed reveals third-quarter financial results which show an increase of 157 per cent year-on-year in revenues for the three-month period to the end of September.
Growth is also recorded in gross margins, increasing from 69.7 per cent in the second quarter to 71.3 per cent in the latest results - a record high which has helped net income to rise in spite of higher tax rates, the firm observes.
Chief executive officer and company president Jerry Kennelly comments: "Riverbed has the most comprehensive WDS solution addressing the needs of mobile workers, remote offices and data centres."
He adds that the mobile market is a likely avenue for expansion of the Steelhead brand, as "many potential customers" have cited the mobile products in the range as a "key differentiator" for the firm.
Riverbed recently introduced version 4.1 of its optimisation system, which allows the data stored on Steelhead appliances to be encrypted.
