Polycom launches HDX 8000 series

26 Oct 2007

Polycom has further enhanced its line-up of high-definition (HD) conferencing solutions with the launch of the HDX 8000 series, the company reveals.

The introduction complements the previous additions to the HDX line, the HDX 4000 and HDX 9000 series, to provide a full range of solutions for executive use and large-scale meeting rooms.

And by basing the new products on the same standards as other models in the Polycom portfolio, the company claims to have created one of the only end-to-end HD video collaboration suites with conferencing bridges, recording and playback capabilities.

Joe Sigrist, senior vice-president and general manager of video solutions, comments: "Polycom customers benefit from the strongest and most highly-integrated portfolio of HD video conferencing, collaboration and content management solutions in the industry today."

The HDX 4000 series, launched in July, provides a number of compact units designed to fit on a desk or meeting room table and can support up to four people on camera at any one time.
