Emulex 'at forefront of San delivery'
29 Oct 2007
Emulex remains at the "forefront" of delivery in the field of storage area networking (San), the company claims.
The comment comes as Emulex reveals its first-quarter financial performance for the 2007-08 fiscal year, with a 14 per cent increase in net revenues reported based on earnings at the end of September.
Profits were driven by the firm's performance in embedded storage products (ESP), according to a company spokesperson, which experienced a 78 per cent growth spurt over the past year.
"With 29 unannounced design wins - nearly half of which have yet to begin shipping - ESP is well positioned to deliver growth for the balance of the fiscal year," adds chief executive officer and company president Jim McCluney.
He concludes that Emulex is "at the forefront" of delivering to its San customers the benefits of converged networks - and has been doing so for its customers for the past decade.
Emulex asserts that its approach to the market targets developing technologies such as server virtualisation and the need for Sans which operate across multiple protocols.
