Edgewater Networks targets enterprise VoIP

30 Oct 2007

Edgewater Networks has announced the release of a new range of routers designed to support data communications such as VoIP.

The EdgeMarc 200 series is an enterprise-level solution with high voice quality and reliability for the level of communications and data transfer required by business, according to the firm.

Advanced functions such as prioritisation and bandwidth shaping ensure that communications are given the share of the data connection required to support good voice quality.

Clients with existing networks are advised that the units can function behind an ADSL or cable modem, or can act as a standalone ADSL modem to establish broadband access.

Integrated analog ports allow for handsets and fax machines to make use of the units, while a PSTN gateway is also incorporated into the design should the VoIP system fail.

Earlier this year, Edgewater Networks was named among the Pulver 100, a list of the 100 companies most likely to influence the future growth of the IP communications industry.
