Fujitsu Siemens reaches 'CentricStor milestone'
06 Nov 2007
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has reached a new milestone in distributing its CentricStor data centre storage brand with the activation of the 500th installation of the product, the company reveals.
The firm suggests that IT managers around the world are increasingly turning to CentricStor for its ability to consolidate the capacity offered by existing tape-based storage area networks and allow companies to move forwards with their storage technology.
Currently deployed "across data centres in Europe and beyond", a total of more than 260 petabytes of data is now protected by CentricStor, according to figures published by Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
"As well as its grid architecture, which allows the operation of a single system in multiple locations, another factor that sets CentricStor apart is its comprehensive certification," comments Dr Helmut Beck, vice-president of the firm's storage business.
In a recent trading statement, Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced an 11 per cent increase in operational profit for the first half of the financial year..
