Huawei S2000-EI series 'ideal for enterprise networks'

The Quidway S2000-EI series of Ethernet switches from Huawei is ideally suited to the enterprise network environment, the company asserts.
A total of three different models are contained within the line-up, offering up to 25 fixed 10/100BASE-TX auto-sensing ports on the S2403H-EI, the largest in the range.
This also provides a console port and an expansion slot, allowing an optical interface to be added if required.
Huawei explains that the devices are capable of providing fast switching, even under heavy load conditions, thanks to full wire-speed switching which aims to maximise the rate at which packets are forwarded.
Support for the 802.1x authentication protocol allows users to be identified as they access the network, preventing illegal access to data.
Meanwhile, the S2016-EI is equipped with an expansion slot allowing a Power over Ethernet module to be installed.
South China-based communications provider Mudanjiang Telecom has incorporated Huawei's switches into its IP network, the company observes.
This includes the addition of some 3,000 S2000 series switches which Huawei adds are "all under good management"..
