Storwize signs up to virtualisation partner program

27 Feb 2008

The Storwize company has entered into an agreement that will see it team up with the virtualisation specialists at VMware, it has been revealed.

It is hoped that by combining solutions delivered by the real time storage compression technology of Storwize with that of VMware, end-users will see significant benefits in terms of a data centre's overall capacity.

As part of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner program, Storwize is hoping that its customers will be able to leverage a greater range of solutions designed to save them money and help them avoid having to repurchase equipment, Ajax World Magazine reports.

Gal Naor, chief executive of Storwize, said: "Our shared users relate well to the idea of combining VMware virtualization with real-time storage compression solutions, since the net effect of both innovations is achieving the same or better results with less resources."

Earlier this month, Storwize came in third place in the network equipment category at last year's Storage Products of the Year Awards.
