New advanced NAS services offered by HDS
07 Mar 2008
New and advanced network attached storage (NAS) services have been launched by Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), it has been revealed.
HDS is convinced that its Essential NAS Platform and its High-performance NAS Platform represent a significant breakthrough in terms of consolidating and managing data.
The Essential NAS Platform is designed for use by medium-sized businesses that are looking to consolidate their servers and establish an enhanced file back-up service, HDS explains.
Meanwhile, the High-performance Platform has been made available with the aim of giving large organisations the capacity to drive the consolidation of the NAS appliances in a way that accommodates "new and future appliances".
"With our new line-up of advanced storage services, we are able to meet both our medium sized and enterprise customers' file-based storage needs," said John Mansfield, senior vice-president of global solutions strategy and development at HDS.
Earlier this week, Hitachi also announced the introduction of a range of newly-enhanced digital archiving technology.
