HDS unveils new Data Discovery suite
07 Mar 2008
Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has introduced a new suite of Data Discovery solutions that it claims will allow users to dramatically improve the way they manage their data.
Losing data or diverting resources for lengthy periods in order to retrieve it can be costly to all kinds of business, but HDS is convinced that its latest range of solutions can prevent these circumstances from arising.
The technology used within the Data Discover suite is described by its developers as being an industry first and the company claims that it is able to solve many of the problems relating to "unmanaged or rogue data".
IT departments at businesses around the world are seeking new ways to effectively manage their "data vaults" and HDS has insisted that its new solutions can meet this demand.
"We are taking our proven experience in storing and managing block storage environments and extending that strength to file services - reducing the risk of rogue data, while improving operating efficiencies," said John Mansfield, HDS' senior vice president of global solutions, strategy and development.
Last month, HDS revealed that its data storage technology is to be made interoperable with the next generation of mainframe environments being developed by IBM.
