Riverbed celebrates storage magazine accolade

Riverbed's wide-area data services (WDS) solution has been handed a silver seal-of-approval by the panel of judges at the Storage Magazine.
Bosses at the tech firm have suggested that they were particularly pleased at receiving the accolade because its product was the only WDS solution named among the winners this year.
The RiverbedOptimisation System (Rios) was commended for its excellence in the network equipment category of the magazine's Storage Product of the Year competition, after having been given the bronze award at last year's event.
Despite celebrating the prestigious industry accolade, Riverbed was keen to point out that its Rios range has recently been upgraded in the shape of the 5.0 version.
"Riverbed's continued recognition from Storage Magazine is validation of how important WDS solutions are to the storage market," said Eric Wolford, senior vice president of marketing and business development.
Late last month, Riverbed announced that its WDS solution had been commended by the experts at the Network World publication via its 2008 Best of the Tests award program.
