FSC 'fastest growing server vendor'

14 Mar 2008

Growth within the server vendor market is currently being led by Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), the company has revealed.

Citing figures from industry analyst Gartner, FSC explains that its record-breaking annual increase in server shipments of 17.9 per cent was surpassed by 19.8 per cent expansion in its x86 server sales.

This helped it to record overall growth of 19.8 per cent - greater than any other top-five vendor.

With the introduction of new quad-core dual-socket models, the firm claims to have strengthened its Primergy range further.

Senior vice-president of enterprise business at FSC Jens-Peter Seick observes that products in the portfolio offer economical strengths beyond those which may be derived from a low ticket price.

He says: "Instead of slashing prices, we have been steadily reducing energy consumption, providing customers with longer-term benefits rather than just one-time initial savings."

FSC recently announced a new version of its management software ServerView Suite to help IT managers administrate their virtualised and physical servers more effectively.
