Sanrad offers disaster recovery to schools

25 Mar 2008

Educational institutions are being told that they may still expect to have access to disaster recovery products by Sanrad, a manufacturer of such solutions.

The firm explains that, for many schools and universities, budgetary limitations could make disaster recovery seem out of reach.

But Sanrad asserts that educational facilities should not wait "for a disaster to strike" before determining whether investment in disaster recovery might be a wise idea.

"Many schools today are facing shrinking budgets but increasing requirements to protect their data in the event of system outages, network failures or natural disasters," Sanrad observes.

"Disaster recovery does not have to be difficult or expensive," the firm adds, noting that many applications available can integrate fully with an existing network, even if server virtualisation is being used.

Sanrad recently revealed that sales of iSCSI products for disaster recovery during the fourth quarter of its 2007 financial year helped it to achieve record-breaking shipments.
