ExaGrid named a 'cool vendor'

25 Mar 2008

Gartner has named ExaGrid among its latest "cool vendors" shortlist, highlighting the popularity of the firm's solutions.

The research analyst suggests that ExaGrid is one of the coolest operatives in the data protection market in a study published on March 20th.

In response, president and chief executive officer Bill Andrews expresses the vendor's pride at being listed among the elite ranks by an organisation with widespread renown.

"Gartner is among the most trusted industry analyst and research firms the world over, so we're especially proud to be named to Gartner's Cool Vendors list for data protection," he comments.

ExaGrid adds that a trend towards new and low cost disk-based backup is identifiable within the Gartner report as a means of accelerating the process over methods used in the past.

The company asserts that its products are suitable for storage environments of anywhere from one to 60 terabytes in size and can reduce the disk space required for a backup by up to 50 times.
