CommVault 'just makes sense'

27 Mar 2008

For firms looking for a provider of data management services, CommVault's Simpana suite "just makes sense", according to a client of the company.

Bob Gilley, global systems administrator at hinge manufacturer Southco, explains that the software has an advantage over competitor products which may be based on a number of separate administration modules.

"It just makes sense to have one product handle all your data management needs versus multiple point products," he observes.

Mr Gilley adds that the single-point structure of the CommVault Simpana software suite also made it easier for Southco to switch from its former infrastructure to make use of the product.

CommVault notes that recent figures from analyst TheInfoPro indicate that consumers are switching to its products from other major operators within the storage solutions industry.

Financial results published by the firm for the third quarter of its 2008 fiscal year showed year-on-year revenue increases of 31 per cent.

Chair N Robert Hammer observed that the statistics suggested CommVault is succeeding in achieving its "long-term strategic objectives".
