SAP certification achieved by Riverbed

SAP certification has been awarded to Riverbed Technology's Steelhead appliance, it has been revealed.
The accolade marks products as being suitable for integration with other goods which have been tested, allowing users to put in place a SAP application-based infrastructure comprising different third-party appliances.
Riverbed explains that the certification follows the introduction by SAP of new tests for wide-area data networking devices in order to cope with greater demand for such acceleration and optimisation units among clients.
Venugopal Pai, senior director of alliances at Riverbed, says that the firm's appliances have proved capable of reducing data on SAP networks by 99 per cent and improving overall performance by five times.
The spokesperson adds: "With SAP's rigorous testing of our products, these enterprises can now also be assured that our products integrate with SAP solutions to reduce bandwidth utilisation and improve end-user response times."
Riverbed was recently awarded the title of Best of the Tests for its Steelhead appliance from industry publication Network World, based on all of the products it had reviewed over the preceding 12 months.
