Emulex VP named as 'influential executive'

Steve Marconi, vice-president of worldwide channel sales at Emulex, has been named as one of the industry's influential executives.
The praise comes as part of the 2008 Channel Chief awards presented by industry magazine CRN, which honours those who have achieved success in the promotion of their companies' partner programmes.
Criteria taken into account when determining who should win the accolade included the amount of revenue generated through the relevant partner programme and the willingness of the representative to speak on behalf of the scheme.
Mr Marconi says: "Reseller partners are an integral part of Emulex's success and direct involvement is essential to understanding their business objectives, which ultimately leads to the company's success."
Emulex recently noted that, using its products, customers could expect to achieve performance from their network twice that of comparable devices from other manufacturers.
Its 8 Gbps host bus adapters were also said by the firm to support the necessary scalability to adapt to expanding virtualised network environments.
