Spectra T200 library 'enables scalability'
02 Apr 2008
Clients of Spectra Logic can expect to achieve the requisite scalability needed of their networks with its T200 tape library, the company claims.
The product provides up to 320 terabytes of storage capacity and, Spectra Logic notes, may scale effectively with existing installations of its T380 or T950 enterprise libraries.
Meanwhile, support is also provided for TranScale, a means by which units can be moved to a larger physical chassis without any changes needing to be made to the software used or the logical structure of the network.
Brian Grainger, vice-president of Spectra Logic Federal, says: "The T200 is easy to use, manage and scale - lowering management costs due to the library's unique, inexpensive growth path with TranScale."
It was recently revealed that Spectra Logic has joined environmental action group The Green Grid, which facilitates collaboration between businesses within the data storage sector to identify ways in which the technology used may be made more eco-friendly.
