SANRAD switches 'deliver robust virtualisation'
03 Apr 2008
New additions to SANRAD's portfolio of network switches allow users to put in place a robust infrastructure for virtualised environments, the company claims.
The new V-Switch 3440 and 3840 switches come with the firm's StoragePro graphical user interface, allowing direct access to features such as volume creation and data migration and replication.
SANRAD adds that the solutions are equipped with "heterogeneous storage networking architecture" to allow for a tightly integrated system to be put in place both for server virtualisation and disaster recovery.
Mark Bowker, an analyst with the Enterprise Strategy Group, says: "SANRAD's V-Switch solutions have been optimised to work seamlessly with server virtualisation to ensure business continuance and disaster recovery failover protection."
He adds that, in a recent survey conducted by the group, 54 per cent of users of virtualised networks state that moving to such an infrastructure has had a net increase on their storage capacity.
SANRAD previously revealed that, in the fourth quarter of 2007, its sales of iSCSI solutions for virtualised storage networks and disaster recovery reached record figures.
