HDS 'number one' for virtualisation
16 Apr 2008
Industry analyst TheInfoPro has ranked Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) ahead of the field within the block-level virtualisation segment, it has been revealed.
The findings are based on interviews with data storage professionals at major companies from the US Fortune 1000 market and span a number of industries.
Hu Yoshida, chief technical officer for HDS, says: "The steady stream of positive customer feedback speaks to the strength of our storage solutions and our unique ability to deliver these in a services-oriented approach."
Mr Yoshida adds that the vendor is unique in its ability to deliver virtualisation solutions in the form of an enterprise-standard scalable storage control unit and notes that there is "clearly" strong demand for such a product.
The company notes that it has been placed in the number one position for the last ten cycles of the study, equivalent to five years of market domination.
HDS recently reported comments from the Enterprise Strategy Group, which noted that the firm is using its virtualisation know-how to allow fast and effective migration of data using its USP V or USP VM solution.
