YuuZoo uses 'flexible and efficient' Virtual Iron

22 Apr 2008

Virtual Iron's virtualisation software has been implemented by mobile content aggregator YuuZoo as part of an immediate and ongoing upgrade of its data centre infrastructure, it has emerged.

The firm's systems distribute targeted advertising to mobile phone users in more than 50 countries worldwide, covering more than half of the world's handset owners, according to YuuZoo.

Now it hopes to make it easier to set up systems for new users by implementing Virtual Iron, as well as reducing its physical server requirements by up to half.

Anthony Cacciola, chief technical officer for YuuZoo, says: "This is a solution that can deliver on our needs now and continue to meet them as we grow and expand our virtualisation initiative."

Virtual Iron was recently named as one of the top 100 private companies in the north-east US by global media network AlwaysOn, signifying its pursuit of "game-changing technology" in the high-growth data storage sector.
