Spectra Logic 'proud' to serve Nascar

24 Apr 2008

Data storage solutions provider Spectra Logic has expressed pride at the success of its partnership with the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (Nascar).

Nascar was recently named as the recipient of the Best Practices in Storage award for selecting and deploying a data storage network from Computerworld.

The motoring organisation's system is built around Spectra Logic's T950 device, with capacity for 50,000 hours of video footage ranging from commercials and television broadcasts to recordings of events.

Brian Grainger, vice-president of Federal and south-east US sales for Spectra Logic, says: "Spectra Logic has enjoyed riding shotgun with Nascar Media Group throughout the product implementation."

Nascar's director of internal operations Scott Rinehart adds that the media group is now confident of successfully preserving its "visual history".

Spectra Logic's T950, when used with the firm's BlueScale interface for monitoring and reporting the status of the network, was recently named as a finalist in the Backup Hardware category of the Product of the Year awards operated by industry publication SearchStorage.
