ONStor reaches 1,000 Bobcat sales

24 Apr 2008

The 1,000th Bobcat network-attached storage device has been shipped by ONStor, the company has revealed.

E-commerce website publisher MeziMedia made the purchase in order to service its data centres in the US and China in light of an anticipated "exponential increase" in the amount of content it serves in 2008.

Steve Neufer, vice-president of operations at MeziMedia, says that ONStor was the "obvious choice" for the publisher when looking to put in place a scalable storage solution capable of evolving rapidly in line with the company's needs.

"With the ONStor file storage deployed, we can grow on the fly and don't have to buy capacity we don't need - we also like that ONStor is plug and play and easy to set up," comments director of systems operations Rick Parada.

ONStor recently announced it had joined industry action group The Green Grid as part of its ongoing campaign to raise awareness within the data storage sector of environmental issues.
