FSC launches data centre innovation contest
02 May 2008
A new contest has been launched by Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) to help identify the most innovative ideas for the future of the data storage industry.
Open until June 6th, the initiative welcomes submissions from all practitioners within the industry, regardless of experience and spanning disciplines such as computer scientists, consultants and developers.
A cash prize is to be awarded to the most innovative entrant, while runners-up prizes of computer equipment are also to be presented by the firm.
Joseph Reger, chief technology officer at FSC, comments: "Innovation is our heritage, our daily business and our future success - with the innovation contest everyone has the chance to shape the future of this industry."
Early stages of the review process allow entrants to assess their competitors' ideas before a panel of experts appointed by FSC provides an official verdict on which concepts are the most innovative.
FSC's own status as an innovator was recently reasserted with the revelation that the company's TX150 S6 had set a new record for power efficiency during benchmarking tests.
