ONStor joins forces with Fujitsu

14 May 2008

Data storage solutions provider ONStor has announced a collaboration between itself and Fujitsu Computer Systems.

The two companies are to market their products together after certifying ONStor's Bobcat network-attached storage gateway as interoperable with Fujitsu Eternus storage systems.

Industry analyst IDC argues that ONStor gateways should combine with Fujitsu's products to provide an efficient and scalable infrastructure for firms anticipating significant data growth in the future.

Benjamin Woo, vice-president of enterprise storage systems at IDC, predicts that both firms are likely to see future opportunities to collaborate and boost their respective business portfolios.

Dave Egan, senior vice-president of storage at Fujitsu Computer Systems, says: "Many synergies exist between our two companies in terms of how we each help data centre managers deal with the uncontrollable growth of content."

ONStor recently announced it had joined The Green Grid, an industry action group which seeks to raise awareness of environmental issues within the data storage sector.
