30 Jun 2008
Fresh support is set to become available for those wanting to operate wide area network (WAN) technology propelled by Riverbed Technology, it has been claimed.
The network manager Opnet and Riverbed have joined forces and suggested that their data communication services mean a greater degree of visibility can be seen on such WAN applications.
Both organisations asserted that the ACE solution offered by Opnet along with Riverbed's Steelhead product can generate improved troubleshooting and measure "end-to-end application delivery".
Vice president of product marketing and alliances at the latter firm Alan Saldich stated that clients will undoubtedly see the positive side of the data networking link.
He remarked: "By obtaining true visibility, our customers are better able to make strategic decisions about IT projects, such as consolidation efforts."
Chairman and chief executive at Opnet Marc Cohen argued that the collaboration ought to lead to "greater benefits" for customers.
Sutter Health recently took on wide area data services (WDS) from Riverbed in a bid to enhance its own networks, the WDS outfit revealed.
