Force10 'supports world's most powerful machines'

30 Jun 2008

Force 10 Networks' Reliable Networking product portfolio is central to over 30 per cent of the 40 most powerful supercomputers across the world, the company claims.

Citing a recent Top500.org study, the firm asserts its product features in a number of the world's most powerful computers.

"As supercomputers grow more powerful, it is increasingly important to minimise potential bottlenecks. The Force10 Reliable Networking product portfolio is designed to deliver reliability without compromising system throughput," said Sachi Sambandan, vice-president of engineering at the firm.

He added that this is essential for supercomputers that are now reaching Petaflop performance levels.

The company also states its belief that supercomputers are set to further increase in size and performance over the coming years.

Earlier this month, Force10 Networks confirmed its C300 resilient switch has been names ad the networking product of the year by Techworld, thanks to its scalability, reliability and network features.
