Primergy servers take best value title
30 Jun 2008
The Primergy TX300 server has taken the top place in the TPC-E price/performance tables, thanks to its online transaction processing efficiency.
According to Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the manufacturers of the server, the Primergy TX300 has taken some 25 per cent off the industry standard benchmark for online transaction processing in terms of efficiency.
"Our customers benefit directly from our investment in extensive testing in our benchmarking laboratories. Our focus on fine-tuning systems ensures that Primergy servers deliver their best performance in the real world," said Jens-Peter Seick, the vice-president of enterprise server business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
He added that the new benchmark from the Transaction Performance Council offers "independent validation" that the firm is a leader in an area of importance to datacentre managers and financial controllers: the price per transaction cost.
Second place in the rankings was taken by Dell's PowerEdge 2900 III. The third, fourth and fifth spots were also each taken by Dell.
