Server virtualisation 'is a complex ecosystem'
01 Jul 2008
The many aspects of virtualisation represent a "complex ecosystem" with virtualised servers at its heart, it has been suggested.
Chief strategy officer at Virtual Iron Tony Asaro makes the assertion as the organisation unveils a new virtual classroom, designed to make it easier for clients to learn to use its management software.
He says: "Server virtualisation lives in a complex ecosystem touching servers, networks, storage and more.
"That is why we've put such an emphasis on our online training and education."
Any user of the Virtual Iron software is offered access to the online lessons on a subscription basis, with topics ranging from installing the system itself to maximising return on investment.
The organisation adds that the entire course requires about five hours of contact time, rather than the five days needed by some of its counterparts.
Chris Barclay, director of product management for Virtual Iron, recently asserted that the company's software can help firms to put in place cost-effective data protection along with high levels of information availability.
