Skilled Group terms Riverbed appliances 'critical components'

08 Jul 2008

Riverbed Technology's Steelhead appliances and software have been implemented by recruitment firm Skilled Group across its 170 locations in Australia, it has emerged.

The first phase of the roll-out, currently underway, covers 35 offices, with a subsequent stage expected to render as many as 50 existing servers obsolete at remote facilities operated by Skilled Group.

Leigh Berrell, group manager of IT strategy and architecture at the recruiter, says: "The Riverbed Steelhead mobile PC client acceleration software was a critical component of the solution for us."

The spokesperson adds that the client has performed in practice as demonstrated as part of Riverbed's proof of concept process, helping to quickly enable small groups of remote workers to use the new infrastructure.

Riverbed previously revealed its products had been selected by Simmons & Simmons in order to implement wide-area data services solutions across the law firm's 20 offices in 13 different countries around the world.
