Accurate infrastructure information 'is crucial'
09 Jul 2008
As network infrastructures become increasingly complex, the need for accurate information about the system as a whole grows, it has been asserted.
Richard Schlauri, executive vice-president of infrastructure services at Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), makes the observation as the company announces its launch of "a new generation" of remote services.
Mr Schlauri says: "Systems and infrastructures continue to become increasingly complex and dynamic - to have actual and detailed information about computers as well as data centres is key."
FSC suggests that, with the latest additions to its portfolio of customer support solutions, the uptime of networks may be increased while additional satisfaction may be delivered to end-users.
Meanwhile, offsite management of systems is enabled, FSC adds, allowing IT managers to detect and handle problems as and when they occur.
FSC recently announced plans to ensure uniformity of design across its major product lines, in order to assist customers in learning how to use different models from the firm.
