Huawei revenue 'up by half'
16 Jul 2008
The latest annual report from networking products supplier Huawei indicates a rise by nearly a half in its revenues for the 2007 accounting period.
Revenue for the financial year grew by 47 per cent to stand at more than $12.5 billion (£6.2 billion), according to the company, which notes that this is the fifth consecutive year in which steady growth has been achieved.
Huawei suggests that fixed-mobile convergence is likely to spur continued development in the networking sector in the future, adding that convergence-based services are being marketed on an increasing basis month by month.
"All-IP architecture and convergence across every network layer will help operators simplify network structure, save transmission and operating costs and enable a wide variety of innovative applications," the organisation adds.
Huawei recently reported that it had achieved a market-leading position in the global DSL broadband sector, shipping an increasing number of ports over the course of 2007.
