17/07/2008 14:27:10

There are tangible benefits to be derived from implementing clustered storage solutions from Isilon Systems, it has been claimed.

Isilon Systems recently commissioned Forrester to conduct a survey of its customers and discover the advantages they had been able to achieve using the company's products.

Scalability and flexibility were among the features highlighted by the respondents, including one who said individual events on their network were capable of increasing their storage needs by 60 gigabytes at a time.

Paul Rutherford, chief technical officer at Isilon Systems, says: "The Forrester study illuminates, in a very tangible way, the real-world business benefits enterprise businesses achieve with Isilon clustered storage."

Forrester concluded that the typical client of Isilon is able to improve their usage of their network capacity by 22 per cent, leading to a 37 per cent drop in the overall disk volume required.

Isilon Systems recently announced its first quarter financial results, in which the firm detected an increase in revenue of 35 per cent year-on-year.
