Edgewater Networks VoIP solution deployed by Virginia Broadband
30 Jul 2008
Wireless networking provider Virgina Broadband has adopted Edgewater Networks' voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solution across its operations, it has been revealed.
The broadband operator provides access across 25 counties in Virginia and is now adding hosted private branch exchange services to all areas where its internet connections are currently available.
David G Norman, chief executive officer of Edgewater Networks, says: "We are very excited about our partnership with Virginia Broadband - their deployment of our product and services shows the value we bring to our partners."
He adds that EdgeMarc and Edgeview are now helping the organisation to achieve savings across its entire deployment of VoIP technology.
Meanwhile, Virginia Broadband adds that it anticipates the solution will allow it to scale up its VoIP operations in line with increasing demand from its customer base.
The company comments that, while broadband internet access has now existed for more than a decade, up to 40 million rural Americans still do not have high-speed connections at home.
