QLogic advances market share

QLogic's double-digit lead over the rest of the storage area network host bus adapters sector has extended still further, according to figures from market analyst the Dell'Oro Group.
The organisation claims that its success has been driven in part by the uptake of its host solutions products among IT managers at Global 2000 corporations when upgrading their data centre infrastructure.
Amit Vashi, vice-president of marketing at QLogic's host solutions group, says: "Among other factors such as performance and innovation, a key differentiator for QLogic is reliability."
QLogic is now 15 per cent beyond its nearest rival in terms of revenue and a greater proportion of 17 per cent ahead of the rest of the market when port shipments are taken into account.
In its first quarter 2009 financial earnings report, QLogic recently announced that its revenues for the quarter had increased by a fifth over the same three-month period in 2008.
